News and Announcements
All of our dome practices are now complete! We will be starting our regular Mon-Thurs schedule next week. There is NO PRACTICE ON SUNDAY – Enjoy Mother’s Day with your families! Starting next week practices will be as follows:
Mon/Wed at 6:30pm – Bantam
Tues/Thurs at 6:30pm – Tyke, Mosquito, Peewee
I will send out a detailed schedule over the weekend with game nights on it. Thank you for your patience with this as we iron out the final details.
There seems to be some confusion with regards to divisions. Our registration goes by year of birth. Our divisions are as follows:
Tykes – Born 2010/2011/2012
Mosquito – Born 2008/2009
Peewee – Born 2006/2007
Bantam – Born 2004/2005
Lastly, If you are wanting to change the size of your T-shirts, I have now assigned all of the t-shirts to their players so can exchange IF we have the size you want available. If you haven’t received yours yet, come and see me at the trailer at the next practice and I will give it to you
Looking forward to getting outside!!! See you all next week. Have a wonderful mini break!
Registration is now closed. Thank you to all who have registered. Looking forward to a great season!!
We are always looking for volunteer coaches/trainers. Let us know if you can help!!
As earlier discussed. Due to the high number of registrations this season (so exciting to see so many kids getting into the sport of football!!!!) a decision has been made with regards to the Bantam schedule. Bantam will be changing practice nights once we are on the field. They will be practicing on Mon and Wed evenings at 6:30pm. We know this may cause some disruption for some but with high numbers we have to take field space and player safety into consideration. It just won’t be possible to have all of the kids on the field on the same nights.
Hopefully it doesn’t have too big an impact on too many players scheduling wise. Most that I heard from had a positive reaction to the possible change, many even preferred it. If the impact to your player is severe and you will have to pull him/her from the league for the season you will receive a full refund upon the return of the equipment in good, clean working condition. You can make arrangements with myself to return the gear/receive your refund.
Our first dome session is tomorrow morning, Sunday April 7th at 9am-10am for all divisions in the Russell Sports Dome situated at 150 Sportsplex drive, Embrun (Beside Embrun Ford)
Please wear your full equipment. For those of you who are waiting on items, wear everything you have for now. There won’t be any hitting drills the first couple of sessions so don’t worry if you don’t have your helmet/mouthguard yet.
If you have a practice jersey wear that over your pads, if you don’t have one, or are waiting for our order to come in to purchase one you can wear an oversized t-shirt etc. Practice jerseys are not mandatory so long as you have something to cover/protect the pads.
Cleats are allowed in the dome. The same rule applies as on our field, no metal studs!!! It is not necessary to purchase football cleats (they can get quite pricey) soccer cleats are totally fine, and many players actually prefer them.
Don’t forget a water bottle!!! Water is the only outside food/beverage permitted inside the dome area.
No outdoor footwear is permitted inside the dome. Please bring a change of shoes or be prepared to be in your sock feet if watching from inside the dome area.
Please be considerate of people using the track. Make your way through and onto the field surface DO NOT STOP/STAND on the track area. If you are there early/the field surface is not available yet either wait in the entrance of the dome or off to one of the corners, off of the track.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me
If you were unable to attend equipment hand out on Sunday. There will be another opportunity for you to pick up your gear Saturday April 6th at 11am. At the football bin in the back of St. Thomas Aquinas CHS. 1211 South Russell Road.
